FOCAC Beijing Summit and 3rd Ministerial Conference open for media registration

The FOCAC Beijing Summit and
the 3rd Ministerial Conference will be held in Beijing from 3 to 5 November,
2006. Media registration is open from 5 to 25 September. The Information
Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC (Information Department) is
the sole organ accepting applications for and accrediting media coverage.
Detailed arrangements are as follows:
1) All Chinese and foreign journalists interested are required to register at the media registration page on the forum's website (http://www.focac.org) and submit required information. Please note that the registration will close on 25 September. 2) For journalists from China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), their news agencies should provide a name list to the Information Department to confirm their applications. 3) Journalists from the participating African countries should also register with their relevant national authorities, who will send relevant information to the Information Department, through the Chinese embassies in their countries. 4) Journalists from other countries and not based in China should also apply via the Chinese embassies or consulates in their countries to the Information Department and provide written confirmation by their news agencies. 5) Foreign journalists based in China may confirm with the Information Department in written form directly. 6) Summit agenda, arrangements for journalist registration and press cards pick-up will be released later on the forum's website.
