A group of disabled Chinese performers staged a gorgeous performance for
wives of the leaders of 20 African delegations who came to Beijing for the
Beijing Summit of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
The performance, themed on "My Dream" and staged by the China's Disabled
People's Arts Troupe and 22 African children, included repertoire dance
Bodhisattva Kwan-yin and vocal solo Edelweiss.
The African guests were accompanied by Liu Yongqing, wife of Chinese
President Hu Jintao, and Gu Xiulian, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee
of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.
The Beijing Summit highlighting "friendship, peace, cooperation and
development" concluded here on Sunday, with a declaration and an action plan
adopted to facilitate "a new type of strategic partnership" between China and
Africa.
